Ambassador's Biography

Born in 1967 in Ankara, Turkey.

Graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations in 1989.

Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey in December 1990.

Worked at the Departments of Culture, Central Asia, Human Rights, Balkans and Human Resources within the Ministry.

Served at the Turkish Embassies in Abu Dhabi/United Arab Emirates, Sofia/Bulgaria, attended the NATO Defense College Senior Course in Rome and worked at the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the United Nations in New York. Served as Consul General in Los Angeles between 2007-2011.

Worked as Deputy Director General for Relations with Iraq at the Ministry between December 2011-October 2014.

Assumed his current post as Ambassador of Turkey to the Islamic Republic of Iran on 15 October 2014.

Married and has a 17-year old son.
